    Hello all...
    I'm looking at a 01 XT600 with 12,000 kilometers on it..
    never used off the seal...
Is there anything I should pay special attention to with them ?

    I have a 09 XT660R at the moment... Its a bike I have not
been able to bond with... no idea why.. just don't like it
    for some reason...
Have a guy makeing noises about it... hope it sells...

This is my 2003 XT600 which I am kitting up ready to do Cape York.
Have added some of Bosley's fantastic stainless steel footpegs, fitted the Acerbis 23L tank yesterday and I am about to add a Ventura Rack System in the next month or so.
I have done some fuel consumption testing on the high speed dirt roads and it is returning about 4.3L/100km or 23km/L which I am very happy with.

I managed to get my bike final for the season. I installed the Lockhart Oil-Cooler, Mocal Thermostat, Tool-Tube, an Aluminiumplate to protect the enigne and bosleys footpegs. Changed the Oil to 10W60.

Yesterday I played in the dirt with a firend, was really fun and exhausting with the heavy machines.

Thats the clutch cable. It had been moved from the left to the right side in 1996.
The 3TB of 1995 (3TB 4PT1) has the second last engine development, the new design and the full 45HP in the papers.

I am looking for pannier frames that look something like that for my '87 german model. Anyone have suggestions or interchangeability information between years, something other than looking through thousands of products on german e-bay every couple weeks?

hm... I have no idea about the frames but I see a nice centre stand on this pic! It would make the chain lubricating a joy!
Any availability (frack knows how it has to be spelled :) of this?

Nice beast, where did you get the acerbis tank? I was checking the acerbis webshop (zero usability, tho, really annoying place) and the tanks says XT 600 95/02 BLACK 0001599.090. Does it fit to my 2004/2005 model?

not to mention the acerbis site went: We inform you that from 21/05/2012 onwards will no longer be possible to order items from this site. Contact an Acerbis dealer for purchase information

Now, before dark I put up the new stainless pegs (by Bosley) with my daughter. She helped a lot :)

There was a little play with the springs (I greased everything well, of course) but all fits properly now.

@ Zombie Stomp: Your model looks like a 2KF/2NF. The only way to get some for this model is to ask in some forums or to built one youself. I have mine from Hepco&Becker, searched for them on ebay for a year to get a fitting one. As far as i know they arent interchangable. There are different ones for the model 87-89, 90-94 an 95-03.

@ bosley: Nice modifications. Need to get mine on the dynamometer when i am done setting the carburettor up. I am testing my setup with an lambda sensor at the moment.
I have a modified airbox with a mesh on the top, K&N airfilter, modified carburettor, Stage 2 camshaft with more and longer valve lift, larger stainless mainfold and a LeoVince Exhaust.

@ pappito: It is very nice to lubricate the chain. But I leave that to the chainoiler a friend of mine developed himself. :D
But it is good to change bothe tires/rims at the same time. I had loosen all bolts and was about to take the rim out when the tire company figured out that my reartire was sent back to their main depot. :(

I purchased the tank from this store - http://www.motorcyclesuperstore.com.../11147-acerbis-fuel-tank-23l-xt600-95-06.html
I am very happy with their service and communication. I was told when I ordered it that there would be a 3 month wait as a black tank was a back order from Acerbis. I was given the option of getting my money back a couple of times but I was happy to wait and it was on my door exactly 3 months later.
