Nice gun! Which grips? How much is the Ultra Dot?

Oh yeah, how many rounds per mag? That or the Walther P22 is my next handgun.

That isn't the point, what it does after penetrating a thick leather biker jacket is what I would be worried about, or shall I say, what it wont do.

I've never pimped the .32 but it seems if some cowgirl is all leathered up, penetration might not be the issue.

That looks to be in fine condition.

Appears you have a pair of undersized grips, same grips fitted to the snub sized N-frames. Ever use the full sized grips?

Those are stock grips. You can buy a set of Pacmyeres or even a Houge that is more full size, but that model had the small grip frame.

Yes, am familiar with Hogues and Pacmyers, but the grips pictured are a little shorter than the standard sized grips that are usually fitted. Those are the same shorter grips S&W fitted to the snub length N-frames.

The standard length grips extend another 3/8" or so below the checkering.

    Like so:

Im quite sure these are the orignals. There are quite a few grips they came with I have never used anything else on this gun but I wouldnt be adverse to trying somthing different. Mostly this gun is used with 38 special ammo for range shooting so it doesnt kick like the Magnum ammo does

My point is this, a low mass, low power round against a thick leather jacket mushrooms prematurely when penetrating the jacket, then won't penetrate the soft tissue as well after that.

Back then when they were new, you could find them both ways, one the one pictured by the poster and two like yours (as far as grips go). The one with the smaller grips was the one that most police departments bought for their street officers and detectives because it was a cheaper package having only a basic blue job, sand blasted top strap, and small frame grips. One could at that time buy the so called "Target stocks" from S&W for a whopping $5.90 extra which most if not all patrol officers did because of the easier draw, and better accuracy. BUT, most if not all detectives left on the standard small but grips because the weapon concieled better. So, in a sense we are both RIGHT......

I understand and feel your queefings but as you can see from the data, a single layer turns an hp into a high penetrating solid so it would follow that any greater number would do the same. Perhaps.

I remember many years ago, we got this shooting call, and this guy had been shot in the forehead right above the middle of the eyes...point blank range with a .32. The bullet did not penetrate the skull, but "crawled" around the cranium between the skull and the skin lodging at the back of the head. Some of the guys thought the bullet had went straight through his skull and the guy was walking and talking.:rofl A .32 can be lacking no doubt.

No argument. I might have to opt for a slide mount for the red dot just to not have such an ugly setup. ( and take the chance on durability for the scope)

Heres a look without the scope bracket.

You can’t mount the scope to the slide, as this will cause a lot of problems. For one it slows down the slide, which will affect the reliability of the gun, and it will beat the living hell out of the scope. Only a couple ways to mount a scope, one you already posted and the other is with a mount that goes between the grip panel and frame.

Still looks like poop but these are the only options that I know of.
