I think that's a good idea, that was a good night, I remember hearing some Ben stories about Alaska and WMRS rides.

Hah! I was just thinking both of those things. I think this time we need to bring some good food and a couple big thermoses of strong coffee. And I'll try to keep the fork oil in my forks.

That was a great day, it would be a fitting spot to send a loud cheer Ben's way.

For those who thinks we are talking some kind of code language,
The place is The Warehouse in Port Costa. It's a cool place, but they dont serve food on weekdays. We had a meeting there about a year+ ago and a group ride from Berkeley. We brought our own food and had a great evening.
Ben was really happy about the place since he could literally swim home from there.

I approve this message. But I'm not saying farewell to Ben. All the time I have stories about him to remember and share, he'll never truly be gone. :deal

I meant it as wishing him a good journey were ever he is now.

I hear you and I wasn't trying to pick a fight, we all gotta deal with this in our own way. :cry

It'll be good to get the band back together though.

I am absolutely shocked by the news of Ben's passing. And so very sad. I am in the process of moving to Vallejo for graduate school at Touro University from Portland, OR. I was just talking to Nixels a couple of days ago asking him if he knew anything about Vallejo. He suggested I talk to Ben as he did in fact live in Vallejo. I sent a PM to Ben a couple of days ago and I was anxiously waiting to hear from him so we could meet up this Friday. I never met Ben and truly wish I could have.

Ben is gone? Did I miss a get together or is one planned? This is unreal.

I'm going to leave it to others to pick the day for this- Ben was a friend, but I didn't know him as well as some here, so I'd prefer if someone a bit closer to him talked to other friends of his and picked a day that works for the most people.

Nomad Guy and I are happy to make good sandwiches and coffee to bring out to the Warehouse, like we did last time. A little group ride out there seems like it would be a good thing too. . . .

Hey, don't let that keep you away, I don't ride unless there's dirt involved. Most of the time, at least...there'll probably be a few that show up in cages.

That'd work for me. But isn't Woodchick gone somewhere now? I know she would like to be in on something too.

She's off for a week or so.

I'd actually prefer a weekday, just because it would be a lot quieter there, and there would be more room for our group, IMHO.

What if we said this would be either one of the weekdays between June 5-7, or one of the weekends on either side of that, if most people would prefer a weekend.

You guys from a bit farther out, LeDakar and Senor Dangerous, what works better for you?

And if anyone missed it, The Warehouse is in Port Costa, near Crockett. It's 10 minutes from the freeway on a bit of twisty road, or it's a very nice ride from Oakland/Berkeley via wildcat, Bear creek, and Alhambra road.
