Sigh.. Btw, I read this week that all Grisos are now going to be SE spec (not sure if they meant Senna or the new Black). Anyone else heard this?
I don't think you can get a 'regular' cast wheel griso in 2013 in the US. Not sure about 2012, but Guzzi USA only shows the black SE.
One thing wrong with the SE with wire wheels is it's so hard to get the air hose onto the valve. I tried to get a right angle valve fitted here in Canberra and the mechs tried for an hour but no joy. They didn't charge me which was great. I might take up Pete Roper's offer of his cast wheels (three spokes). Much easier. The only other thing wrong with Griso's in general is the butt ugly exhaust, which will be replaced with a slip on.
Looks like you have some beautiful roads in Sweden. I may have to come there and ride someday. My great-grandparents immigrated to the USA from there many years ago. T
Oh, so you are a bit Swedish! Yes here are many wonderful roads that are perfect for motorcycle riding. So it is clear that you should come here to explore your roots, beautiful views and the bends that are waiting for you . The best time of year to ride a motorcycle here is of course in the summer. But it naturally depends on the experience you want.

It's all here: http://griso1100.blogspot.com/ In short: dynojet PCV, USB, stock PCV Griso map with my tunes to clear up decel pop. I posted the map to the blog
OK, I've got the 1200 8V and it needs a lot of work below 4k. Not just the popping at 0 throttle but the surging at steady state throttle below 4k. Very annoying but it seems expensive to get rid of as Guzzi does not have a map and those who have developed one want a lot of money for it.
I don't have a Griso myself, but if yours is stock MG should have a correct map for it. I suggest you query the folks over at http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?board=1.0 someone will have an answer to your problems.
There are 4 maps for the 8V Griso. 01, 02, 03 and 68S. My '09 8V had the 01 map and it had similar issues. You want either the 03 which is what comes in the current models or the 68S which is for off road use only. My dealer charged $50 to check my old map and download the 68S. There is no reason to pay big bucks for an aftermarket map. M
