Among the violations, the wing's command-directed investigation found that the pilots flew only 16 feet above the stadium's press box when the minimum height difference for a flyover is supposed to be 1,000 feet.

There has to be video of this somewhere!

This one's a lot crazier. He was sinking fast.

It's all fun and games until a few hundred spectators get wiped out.

Bird ingestion/flameout etc on the navy one could have been interesting for those in nearby neighborhoods.

I wonder how they derived 16 feet above the press box...
distance to the top of the box, and the altitude of the aircraft from the plane's flight data recorder?
    wierd...

That navy one look like a pucker factor 9 moment... scary...

    Thunderbirds, pfffffft!

I spent 23 years in the Air Force, went to many airshows. I loved every minute. Seen the Thunderbirds perform I don't know how many times. Always a rush, to be sure.

But when it comes to pure awesome (and not to take away from the skill and dedication of those Air Force pilots) the Blue Angels and the Canadian Snowbirds kick the "Thunderchickens" ass.......

Of course, I could be wrong. :norton

IMO, once you've seen any of the teams a few times, particularly year after year after year, they lose their appeal.

They're certainly impressive, but I prefer slower, closer aerobatics. Give me a Pitts or Decathlon any day.

John Mohr ........The best ever airshow performer I have ever seen.

What he does with a stock Stearman is simply jaw-dropping.:clap

Military teams......maybe I'm biased but the RAF Red Arrows really do a brilliant routine...they have a knack of having something in front of the crowdline all the time......... both the T'birds and Blue Angels do have noticeable gaps in the show. That said, the precision formations are very tight.
