Although I didn't stay at the camp, it was nice to stop by and see some familiar faces and meet people I only saw online.
I only wish I spent more time there to party and ride with you all.
    Great pictures by the way.
I'd post some of mine, but they aren't as good as the ones posted.

    Question
Are the sinks of Gandy blocked off?
I rode by a sign that said sinks, but the roads were blocked.

There is no sign at the Sinks Of Gandy. And none in the area telling you where they are that I know of.

The Sinks are beyond this locked gate.

You have to walk about a 1/4 mile down the road to see the cave.

I guess I should have taken a picture of the sign that I clearly saw and read.
It was a small wooden sign at a curve in the road.
It appeared to be at the end of two dirt/gravel roads branching off the main road.
    These dirt roads were barricaded.
    Maybe private driveways?

The Sinks are on private land, it is not posted but it is gated as a liability issue I think.

And if it wasn't gated you just know that some asshat would drive his 4x4 down there and tear shit up, scatter trash around and in general make a mess.

The land owner does not mind anyone visiting the area, but keeps it gated to restrict access to those who will make the effort to walk down there.

Are the gates on Dry Fork Road?
    There were two gates.
In front of one of the gates there was a sign, which I don't recall what it says.
However, on the sign it also said Sinks of Gandy, written in like script.
More like burned into the wood.
Since it is gated, how does one get in contact with the land owner to gain access without trespassing?
I've seen pictures of bikes at the sinks.
Does he allow the bikes down?
Or was that people risking it?

I wouldn't take a bike down there, but I have seen pictures of bikes there.
Sometimes the gates are open, sometimes closed. I've never seen them open.

No idea how to get in touch with the landowner.

If the gate is closed, climb over and walk down I guess.
I believe the gates are there to remove liability as it is an "attractive nuisance" and if you climb over the gate and then get hurt down there the land owner didn't "give" you access.

Oh, and the gate and fence sometimes keep the cows in too :lol3

    Got it Wayne.
Thanks for the coordinates and the pictures.
I now know exactly where you talk of and where my friend and I were.
It turns out that we passed that private road when we were on Dry Fork Road looking for the sinks.
Next time I go to W. VA. I'll be sure to find the sinks thanks to your assistance.
