I'll be taking advantage of this when I replace my punctured oil cooler with an Earl's unit. Provided I can figure out a way to make mounting brackets.
I paid 3400. a year ago for a 2004 with 20k miles. I bought it from a dealer so I paid a little on the high side but, it did have Dale Walker's stage 1 and a Corbin seat. I rode it to Key West from Central Georgia and was quite happy with the way the bike performed and the level of comfort.
Thanks. How much wind does the windscreen stop? Is it very quiet riding compared to a naked bike? I am 6' 2" ... so most screens divert the air to my face.
It looks like that bike may have a Zero Gravity sport touring screen on it. If so, it works great. I am 6' and love the hell out of the '01 I picked up last year. The engine is very tractable with good power just about everywhere. Wishing I had a few extra $ to spend with Dale, including a different seat. I am looking to add a very similar bag package as to what that one has.
If you are looking at a bandit in the 2001-2002 timeframe make certain to check the VIN for the oil burning issue. It's a big tear-up if you get stuck with this issue...... Have a look here. http://forums.banditalley.net/index.php?topic=276.0 I pretty much just avoid the 2001-2002 because of this issue.
I know it's aftermarket but not sure which one. It does a nice job of keeping the wind off my helmet. I just picked up a Gsx1250 and it's terrible! Wind is directed to my upper torso and head causing me to bobble head at speeds over 70! I'm already looking for a good aftermarket screen for it.
I took the 04 out yesterday so I could do a direct comparison. My helmet still gets the wind but it's not enough to throw it around. Wind noise is still considerable but I blame that mostly on the helmet design.I would rather have it this way though instead of being so tall, I didn't get any air. As for a direct comparison against a naked bike, can't help you there. I haven't rode a naked bike since 1984.
anybody know where you can buy the RED Givi PLX V35 cases? I can't seem to find them. I know they're available somewhere because i've seen photos.
Have you tried Suzuki? The OEM bags are V35, the color matched red trim panels I would expect you to be able to order through a dealer. trey
I believe those Givi bags are custom painted to match the bike. According to their web site, the V35 only come in several colors, red not being one of them. http://www.giviusa.com/Side-hardbags/Monokey--Side/V35 EDIT: I was looking around on eBay and found a set of the V35 cases for the Bandit. Here is a quote from the auction: So evidently, Givi did offer a red panel for those bags at one time.
Well, kind of. Suzuki offered them as an OEM accessory. My bags actually had the Suzuki 'S' on them where the Givi badge normally is. The colored inserts were available as an option on the option.... Which I didn't realize and just ran them without any trim panels at all since I was too cheap to buy them after the fact.... trey
You can buy the color matched inserts from Suzuki. I bought a set of bags used and then the inserts to match the bike. Not cheap--IIRC the inserts were ~$30 each plus shipping. Looks good though... Incredulous
That does look good. I just bought a GSX1250 that came with E21 bags that I really don't care for. I like the V35 bags a lot more but then I would have to change to bag mounts.
PM me if you want to get rid of the E21's. The V35's I was eyeing on eBay got sold out from under me.
Sorry, I promised them to a fellow inmate but, if he decides he doesn't want them, I'll give you a shout.
JJ- I got he racks for the V35's off of another inmate. They cam off of a GSX650F. The racks fit perfectly as I understand the frames of the two bikes are nearly identical. If you are searching for used racks, that might help to broaden your search... Good luck. -Incredulous
