Here's my little beast, an F650 GS Dakar like BMW should have made it in the first place imho:

Since these pictures I rerouted the front brake hose, shortened the gearing (15x49), removed the mirrors and removed the RAM mount on the left hand side.

To be done:

remove ABS (not sure about it yet)
higher seat
replace sump guard with an aluminium one
tilt over IMO and relocate windscreen so I can read the IMO while standing
fit a techlusion
ride and ride and ride...

Here’s my Dakar on the beach in Baja. The mod so far are ……

Wunderich tankbag
Happy Trails front engine guard, skid plate, rear rack & saddle bag racks, fork brace
Touratech upper and lower crash bars, center stand,
Side stand extension
Cee baileys windshield.
Fork boots, leak proof seals
Scorpion exhaust
K&N air filter with air box mod
Fastway pegs
Russel seat & stock high seat
Old police saddle bags.
3 gal fuel cel On and off in 5 min.
GPS & V1
BG stuff chain guard & ABS guard

Future mods…….

Techlusion
LED tail light
Fat bars & risers
Who know what else, this thing is a blast

I'm in the middle of doing just that (and TT suspesion and Techlusion and a few other things). I'll let you know how the ABS removal goes. I'll post pics too, when I'm done.

Great looking bike Mr Kool, where did you source the front guard? Looks more useful than the standard "beak" and probably won't so readily crack across the mount, like most do after some serious adventuring (mine twice now been plastic welded), I'd like to find something like that.

Firstly, wouldn't it be easier to just have a switch inline with the ABS fuse, that should turn it off easier then the stupid switch that BMW has done, my ABS always turn back on while in the bush, then its like shit its back on.

Did you remove your instruments? can you give me more information on the cockpit setup ( I love it, something that I would like to do)

What forks are you using? and how easy did it connect the triple tree???

Me, too. Would appreciate info on wheel/tire setup, forks, and other fundamental mods that make it more offroad worthy.

Max, whats up w/ the inverted forks? did you add those or is there some package with inverted available? BTW I have seal savers and love em.
