Let's see your sunsets/sunrises.

I really like sunsets and sunrises. From time to time I ride a few miles from my house to this farm to watch the sun set over a small ridge. I'd love to see your favorite sunset spots. These were taken this eveing.

Woo hoo!! Finally a thread I can participate in!

This is actually from my driveway right after a day trip. I have an amazing view from my house. I see this every night (at least when I'm home)

Thumb West Texas Sunset - after a day of rain

I was riding back from Lake Charles to Sonoma Co., and had been riding for about 9 hours - most of it in torrential rain. At this point, I was ahead of the rain travelling West. This is probably between LaMesa and Seminole on TX180 late in the afternoon. It was Oct., 2002 and I was wrapping up 15,000 miles in 4 months time.

Sunsets & sunrises are like first kisses with a hot babe - memorable, no matter how many times you're lucky enough to be there.

From the Sweetwater Mountains looking west to the Sierra over Antelope Valley.

A little earlier that same evening, looking southeast at the Sweetwater range.

Okay, here's the first. Sorry there's no bike in these but sometimes you just can't get them into that great shot...

Along Sand Creek Road, near Laramie, Wyoming. The prominent peak on the left is Jelm Mountain, the long ridge on the right is Sheep Mountain. My favorite place to watch sunsets is from my front pasture, from the back of a horse. I try to time my training rides in late summer so that we're finished with the exercise, and walking around pleasantly, "cooling down" the horse as the sun sets. The view from my front yard is similar to these pics, but a bit farther away, so the taller Snowy Range Mountains behind these are visible too. Late summer sunsets are much more spectacular, with all the dust in the air. These photos were in the early spring.

And ten minutes later:
