Anyone tried the Self-Tapping-Carbide-Tire-Studs?

I found these:
http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/...s-p-19555.html

And wondered if anyone has had any experiance with them? They seem to be a better answer to ice screws for someone like me who will use thier bike to commute to work - without the cost of the studding gun.

Anyone know how well the work (or don't work)?

Please, somebody tell me that this product is terrible. Otherwise I think Ryan may break my other arm.

(Which basicly means that )

I've decided that, if I'm going to keep riding with Ryan, I'm going to need these, because he's going to ride through snow and ice regardless of what's on his tires. Then again, I'm not the one who went down today...
