Aussie 950/990 Owners Thread
Im surprised there hasnt been one of these yet... and much needed i think, for the most versatile motorcycle out there.
Post up your pride & joy. I know its mine, and cant believe i even thought to sell it... bloody women Number one. 2004 15,000kms not an issue. ![]() And now: 2003 in road trim. 34,000kms. no probs. ![]() Mods... H&B Crash bars, H&B Carrier system, Heated grips, GPS RAM mount, AJ Plastics windscreen, Black dog bash plate, EGO Barkbusters, PIAA 510 ATB Aux lights, HID 50w H3/H7 Headlights, Spare road wheelset 19/17 with Galfer wave rotors. All too easy to dump money into these... but smile per $ is up there.

Maybe.
Its good to have a central location for questions for them, aussie jetting, where to buy bits locally, etc. I know i'd like to know where to get the fittings for the facet 40171...

this is number three for me:
My first - a silver 2003 950 Adv my second - an orange 2004 950 Adv and my current love orange 2005 950 Adv I have 19"/17" wheels also and this alone transforms the bike into the most versatle bike in the world - IMO of course..

High Mileage 950 / 990's
So.... these 9X0's have been around a few years now, who's got the most k's up? and what have you needed to fix other than the usual fork seals, chains and sprockets and stuff ??
![]() I heard Craig Hartley has 100,000k's on his and he rides pretty hard, but of course he has full workshop facilitys at his beck and call to keep it prime. Unless I've been told furphys then it's a very impressive milage. Cheers, Peter. OneOff screwed with this post 05-09-2009 at 02:24 AM |

Decided to change the original water pump at 34 000, not because it was faulty, just because I thought it might need it.. Still running the original clutch and slave cylinder, haven`t touched the fuel pump as yet either.. Apart from tyres, chains and sprockets and cams done under waranty, I haven`t had any issues that come to mind.. The SE has been very reliable as well so far but it has only 4000 on the clock..

Bought this one in august and been chipping away at it in between rides. Fitted the lights this week and they don't work. Don't want to have to take those tanks off again in a hurry..
Bloody brilliant machine by far the best of 4 950/990's I've owned over the past 8 yrs. ![]() ![]()
