Edit: Just noticed your handle, I'm medic 7603 here at home.

Hey, Medic, is that a fanny pack you're using as a tankbag?

I realize this is like 2 years after you posted, but here: my old 1981 XT 250.

Mohican...Great place to ride. I go there often in the summer. We usually send a week or so camping there each year also.

Medic,
Sorry for the semi-jacked thread... North Central Washington State. Have a brother in Galena, OH.

I can ride 60 mph all day. It will hit 70 max but it seems a little fast for the engine.

I get 60 (+) mpg.

1200 miles is a long trip though...the best thing would be find one in a shop and sit on it to see how you like it.

This was the first short trip I did with my XT
Sunshine Coast B.C. Canada

This is up behind Sunshine Valley Manning Park B.C.

Hope B.C. (same trip as last photo)

Just south of The Grand Tetons in Wyoming U.S.A.

Just outside Moab U.T.

At a campground north of Salt lake city on my way back to B.C.

Those new XT's look pretty sharp. It was my SO's favorite bike at this past years CycleWorld show, she had sat on it several times.
Probably be the next bike at some point in time when I have money.

great bike

I love the small displacement dual sports. I have a DR200 that my youngest son will soon be stealing from me and have been looking for a replacement adn cant decide between the XT250/CFR230L or going bigger and getting the DR200. What is the top speed of the XT? I am 230 LBS and just want to keep up with highway traffic when between dirt roads.
