Rules are easy...

The "Tag" can be any object. It will be the object directly behing the bike in the photo.

#1 - Find the tag and reproduce the photo (as best as possible). The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a photo, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

#2 - Go to a new location and park your bike in front of something, get the photo and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can figure out where the tag is located. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties.

#3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) may be placed on a dirt road if a street bike can make it. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

#4 - File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.

#5 - Your bike has to be in the TAG picture

#6 - cannot re-tag Garden state tags

#7 - picture must be taken from the correct end/side..... when possible

Best practices would include:

- getting a couple of potential tag pics if you're not sure you have an "original" (will save you a special trip when you mistakenly retag)

- not delaying "too long" before posting the new tag- especially when the weather is nice and/or on holidays or weekends when more people are more available.

- try to keep away from potentially dangerous conditions like busy intersections

- take the time to get a good photo/composition

- provide the location in a post after your tag is "gotten" so Steve can update the list.

BOUNDRIES

***ATTENTION***

THE FIRST PERSON TO POST THE PICTURE IS THE HOLDER OF THE TAG AND GETS TO PICK THE NEW TAG.

Below is Steve's spreadsheet. he does a great job and you should really look at it before dropping a tag. just hit the drop down arrow of the town/county your in and it will show all the previous tags in that town/county.

NEW TAG>>>>
This high banked third-mile paved oval that has been hosting exciting racing events for the past 59 years!

The picture i really wanted to use is questionable since it might be considered tresspassing so i will use it extra credit. a steet bike wont be able to get this one.

Got It!

I was gonna go up & take the snap from up on the hill, but there were a couple people inside the grand stand office that came out while I was taking this pic.

I walked up & took one without the bike anyway:

OHHHH don't act like your busy or something. Your probably hanging out eating a candy bar looking at the ADV site, instead of going out and posting a new tag.

these are the rules from day 1 but i have been getting phone calls, PM's and emails so this has to be made clear so i dont have to make it clear 1 rider at a time.

#1. THE TAG IS THE OBJECT BEHIND THE BIKE. there are no official mascots in this game. any "item" left at a tag site is just that, an item and should be considered a gift to the tag gods. THE ONLY THING THAT MUST BE TRANSPORTED TO THE NEW TAG IS YOUR BIKE.

#2. THE FIRST PERSON TO POST THE PICTURE IS THE HOLDER OF THE TAG AND GETS TO PICK THE NEW TAG.

the following do not qualify you as a tag winner:
i googled it first
i arrived at the scene first
i clicked my camera first
i took a picture of an item left near a tag

Here is the official "tag map"

1-100
101-200
201-300

OK, just to be clear..these are the rules from this thread and the GS thread, since it was referenced. I do not see anything that specifically addresses if the " new Tag" posted was a retag, that its null and void if someone goes and grabs it...or does it say who needs to be the one who checks the list.

Like I said, I'll be fine what ever the decision is, and not say anything more about it. I do not wanna be confused for someone else who does nothing but bitch in these TOR threads.

With that said, some of the ambiguity of this particular situation should really be addressed in the rules...properly.

I got it, but I fail at mobile uploading:

Edit:

I couldn't get the image to upload directly from my phone, so I uploaded from home.

Doc says closer to V'land, so lessee where that leads me...

Good get. I had the same problem when I got the new phone. Some good tips people gave me...

Bookmark your Photobucket default upload page
Bookmark the SJTOR page

When on Photobucket looking at the photo you want to post, click "share" on the tab above the pic, copy the "direct link for layout pages" and paste into the ADV picture icon.

Slight Problem:

I just got called into work, which means for the next 24 hours I'll either be at work, or getting ready to go back to work.

So, to keep the game moving, and if all deem it OK, since Doc got the last tag, I have no problem with him placing the new one.

If somebody objects, I have no problem posting a new tag. It's just not gonna get done for 28 hours.

Sorry, wasn't expecting this.

I can see it now... The tag hounds have already begun circling the Pines like so many vultures.
