Welcome to the Tejas and Gulf States regional forum.

Please introduce yourself in the appropriate "BS Thread". That's the best way to
1. meet local riders,
2. find out about upcoming events/rides,
3. ask questions about local riding areas,
4. get assistance with wrenching, etc.
Plus, it cuts down on repetitive threads.

Certain areas also have weekly or monthly ADV events. These may be at restaurants, bars, etc.

Photo tag has become popular on ADV. Each state has one or more threads pertaining to this game.

Note: Please keep in mind that the regional forums are for topics that are regional or local in nature.
If you need tires or maintenance advice for your XR, go to Thumpers. If you need info on the TransAmerica Trail, do a search in Ride Reports or check out Trip Planning. Come back when you have specific questions on the OK or AR section of the TAT.

Rallies
There is one "official" ADV Rally for the Tejas Region. It's called SLAP and is typically held in the spring at White Rock Mountain (as of late, anyhow). Look for those details in the ADV Annual Rallies section of the site.

Other unofficial rallies may pop up here and there.

Like you, I've lurked for a while. If you head this far south (Edinburg/McAllen) drop me a pm. There's a smallish, but fairly active, group of dual sportistas down here. One of more of them would surely buy you a beer.
