New Product Annoucement: Programmable dimmer for auxiliary LED driving/fog lights
Advance Notice for ADV Rider Inmates:
Many auxiliary LED driving & fog lights are too bright for oncoming traffic when run at full brightness, yet need to be switched rapidly to full power when road and traffic conditions require and permit this. Skene Design, developer of Photon Blaster and P3 Lights, now has a solution. Our Intelligent Lighting Controller allows you to program your aftermarket LED lights to operate at any desired intensity when in low power mode and switch immediately to maximum power when the high beam is activated. If an optional toggle/rocker switch is added, then three independent brightness settings are supported. The controller not only controls the LED's brightness, but also serves as the relay for either two separate LED lights of up to 30 watts each, or a single light of up to 60 watts. This product is now available here: http://skenedesign.com/lights/IQ_170.shtml

Sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing it.
Any idea on the pricing?

Received controller with updated software in exchange for the first one, now also working great on the BMW (R1200GS)
with delayed hi-beam on after ignition is being turned on (basically you have more time to enter programming mode...) The dimmer now has a wider adjustment range at the lower LED brightness levels. I'm not affiliated with the seller but that's really a nice product that intelligently fills a market niche.

Sorry about breaking the rules, however I regard our relationship as more of a partnership than a competition.
This new dimmer design, which the vendor himself said he was not going to build, will help him sell many more lights.

This should save a lot of work for everyone. Sounds like what I was about make myself. Can't wait to see how compact it is. Can you post a sneak peak pic? I'd rather buy it than make it, so you're timing is perfect.

Would this work with heated gear? Same principle, no?

Yes, it will work for heated gear, but there are other solutions out there that I think would be better suited to the task.

With a three position switch, you can have three independent brightnesses, including off. Switching on the high beam always sets the lights to maximum power.
