mint 71 CB350 worth?

A friend of mine has a 71 CB350 that he bought back in the 70's and never got around to getting his license, so it has just been sitting in his heated garage for
many years. Bike looks brand new with about 4K on it. He is thinking of selling it.He is not sure what to ask. From looking around I would say $1500 to $2500 to the right person?
I know they made millions of these bikes but there are few clean ones out there anymore.

$1200 was the first number that jumped into my head. Getting that lump to fire might be a breeze, or it might be a nightmare. You'll need a battery and tires, right off. Probably need to rebuild the carbs.

Can't hurt to run it up the flagpole and see if he salutes.

How was the bike actually stored...was it just parked in a corner on the sidestand, or was it properly put away, ie: fuel system drained, fresh engine oil, parked on the centerstand, and covered to keep 30+ years of grime from accumulating everywhere?.

Kept under a cover, not sure about fluids. Bike is a 10, no rust, dents, etc.

If it is real nice I would say 1500-1800, it is hard to judge though as it depends who wants it and how badly. Someone waiting for a mint one for 3 years might be willing to spend a bit more.

Pics would be great. Even if it has sat covered all this time it will take some $ to get it running right and these are not super collectible bikes as far as I know.

For me Ebay is always the best way to determine a bikes value - do some research there or just list and see what happens.

I think color will come into play on an original bike. RobbieO's CB is beautiful in red. But there was a perfect CB down the road, restored by a guy who grew up around his Dad's honda dealership in the 60's. This bike was perfect owned by a guy with a dozen perfect old Hondas.
It was gold metal flake and took him forever to find a buyer. In the end I think he got around 1000.

As it sits, without rust, dings, tears and non-running .. $1200 might be reasonable. No matter what a buyer wants to end up with, it will cost the same to get it into riding spec.

They might not be ultra-collectible but they are a cult bike so lord knows what some think they are worth. The two most collectible things about it would be "all original" and most importantly "original paint".

It is the green metallic, very classy looking.
Thanks for the info,I'll pass it on. He doesn't need the money, so if he wants the higher end I think he should put in something like Hemmings. I would love to have it but I already have one that someone gave me.

hahahahha......I'm a hell of a salesman, plus, it was 100% original (except tires) and was in showroom condition with less than 3500 miles.
