Trials Bicycles

Who has one?

On a whim Bendejo and I decided it was it would be a great training tool and a good way to get quickie rides in when the mood struck.

This beauty is currently in transit and will hopefully arrive tomorrow.

We've been lurking over at OTN and learning as much as we can. We're super excited to get the bike here to start playing.

Beware, you might soon be totally hooked.

I used to ride lots of mototrial, but these last several years, when I go for a trials ride, 95% of the time it's biketrial.

One of the nice things is that it keeps me pretty well in tune for riding mototrial, too.

good luck and have fun with it!

two thing that have helped me

try to ride with a body position where you have little or no weight on the bars to test this let go and try not to fall on your face (it is harder than it sounds)

and when hopping the front try not to push down with your feet while pulling up on the bars, try to unweight the peddels while you are moving the front around

Went down to the park and rode circles around the basketball courts for about an hour and a half working on basic stuff. I ran out of water half way through but I was having too much fun to quit.

Now my hands REALLY hurt and I have a blister.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in. I'll admit, the last new bicycle I bought was a Specialized cyclocross bike (full XTR and Ultegra) for $1400 on clearance, so I've been spoiled...maybe my pricing guides need some adjusting. I'm just always suspicious of what is function and what is jewelry. Trials doesn't seem to fit into the paradigm that I've grown accustomed to for bikes, so when I see "billet (aka bling bling)" in a parts description I'm always dubious of it's functionality.

Thanks again everyone.

We went to a Skate Park really early in the morning. He LOVED it. Aidan has been here many times on his skate board. After leaving the Skate Park, he told me he would never bring his skate board here again...only the bike.

I don't see a front brake boss (disk or rim brake), what's the scoop?
