Bike Rental Wellington

hey all

i'm going to be back in nz for the RWC and was thinking about hiring a bike out of wgtn to go visiting familiy etc... can't seem to find any hire places... looks like auckland or chch are the places to hire bikes...

anyone got any ideas?

also, anyone know of decent gravel tracks between wgtn and the hawkes bay?

cheers

chris

There are lots of interesting roads Wgn-HB. Simply hugging the East Coast using the gravel as much as possible yields a pretty good route. The Welly boys will likely have some more suggestions.

Cheers
Clint

cheers guys

saw that unbelievable times on the interweb - how was it? good bikes? what did the klr cost to rent? also i might need some kit, do they hire that out?

only back for the wgtn pool games.. time, money and my own doubts won't let me stay for longer than that. i'm going to watch the quarters and semis on my own in a dark room back over here... that way no one else will see me cry if we don't make it...

Chris

Email/internet customer service in new zealand can be well....... non-existent . If you can find a phone number, a call is usually the best way to receive an answer or more info.

Just been in to Wellington Motorcycles. They report no people renting bikes out of Wellington anymore. Just Auckland predominately, & Christchurch. Christchurch not so much now. . If you were here longer they (Wgtn M/cycles) would do a buy back scheme.

Give me a yell a bit closer to the time (if you get a bike sorted). I might be able to play tour guide, or at least point you in the 'most interesting' direction.
