Where can I find discontinued Suzuki OEM parts?
Hello everyone!
I recently bought a 1981 Suzuki DR500(same engine as SP500) and this is my first post. I'm looking for a new camshaft and rocker arms for the bike since they are completly worn out. The rest of the engine seems to be in good condition so I'm focusing on finding just these parts instead of a used engine in unknown condition. The rocker arms doesn't seem to be hard to find but the camshaft is discontinued from Suzuki. I have e-mailed bikebandit, cycle-parts.com and a couple of others but I haven't had any luck yet. It doesn't seem to be available on ebay neither. Does anyone of you have any idea of where i can find one? The partnumber for the camshaft: 12711-37400 |

I checked my Suzuki parts database and that part number covers 81 to 83 DR500 & SP500. Might be hard to find, I'd keep checking ebay one might pop up.

I did a search on ebay here in the states and found several SP500 heads for sale. I would email them and ask is they have a cam laying around.

Thanks for the replies!
I will contact Paul Miller and see if he´s got any idea where i can find one. Contacting people who are selling cylinder heads sounds like a good idea to so I will give that a try. Actually I have found a company here in sweden who have the camshaft in stock, they´re called MC-shopen.se and the claim to have the biggest supply of old Suzuki parts in europe. Only problem with them is that they want 3900kr or about 560 dollars for it, and thats almost as much as I payed for the whole bike. |

Selling Suzuki's since the 60's, certainly worth a call anyways... Far more than your average share, of nos and used oem Suzuki parts. 996DL |

do you have a vernier caliper or something you can measure that cam with in hundredths of an inch?
The cam lobes long ways and short ways, and then the shaft aswell |
