Just a quick note to let you know about some opportunities to get out and ride this year and to see some cool locations and help out a great work in the riding. The following rides benefit the Eddie’s Road works directly with national organizations and regional group homes to create programs directed specifically to coaching/mentoring children between the ages of 14-18 as they face the challenges of moving into adulthood and independence from the child welfare system.. The charity was set up in memory of Eddie James, founder of Team Strange Airheads, former AMA executive, and a legend in the long distance rider arena.
The first event is the Smoke Chasing Grand Tour, on the list of AMA Grand Tours once again this year after its introduction in 2011. This is a self-paced BBQ/"Smoke" Grand Tour that combines your love of motorcycling and great food. SCGT12 is a perfect complement to your day trips, weekend rides, team rides, club rider events, and can easily be part of your long distance adventures and rallies. SCGT12 is open to all makes and models of motorcycle and all types of riders.
The other event this year is The Grand Tour of Georgia, returning for its third year. The theme this year is Georgia’s Outdoor Art and there are twenty very interesting sites in this tour, all in the state of Georgia.

Here's another Grand Tour... Glacial Lakes Motorcycle Club's Z to A Grand Tour.. http://www.glmc.org/grand-tour.html
This year's tour has you hunting down towns that either begin with Z or end with A, and if you find one that has both, it's double points!
This is a great excuse to get out and ride.. And the prizes are great.. 25 towns makes you a finisher, resulting in a great t-shirt and you're in the drawings for "stuff" with every 25 entries.. Get 75 towns, you're in 3 times..
A few photos from last year's tour...
