Need input on 2002 Tiger 995i
My brother is looking at a Triumph Tiger 955i that has 70k miles on it. Is that a safe buy?
The bike has some damage on it on the right side where it was dropped at slower speed. It is mainly cosmetic but the handle bar is a bit "tweaked".
Can I get some feedback on what to look at?

That's quite a few miles. You might do a search to see how many miles the girlie Tigers are good for before something in the motor wears out. Maintenance and care goes a long way. I hope my '06 will go 70k.
Some of the known issues are the regulator/rectifier, plastic fuel fittings and failing radiator caps. All easily solved.
I found the stock seat to be unbearable on longer rides.
Your prospective Tiger likely has had these issues addressed already.
Make sure regular maintenance was done.
They are great bikes and fun to ride.
Good luck on your Tiger hunt.

Mine is @ 70k
Hi there, just cracked 70,000kms on the weekend. Awesome bike pretty heavy on hard off road tracks but long range it's awesome. Engine is sound but starting to see leaks. I'm going to have to asses what I have to do for a major overhaul or sell. Check out www.tigertriple.com go to the 'girly' section and there is a thread on faults and weaknesses. Most are easy to fix.
