So you made it - did you get home by 2:00 P.M. like you planned? It was good meeting you at the Timmy's in Squamish. It was a very nice day for a ride.... I liked it so much I went up there again this morning. Today I met another rider from our age group, and spent the good part of an hour discussing bikes. Hopefully he's going to show up on the forum here as well. Have a safe riding season!

Thanks for the update. I was thinking of heading that way soon. Feeling the need for a good days ride. I am already growing weary of the few hour loops in the valley.

Rode the Duffey yesterday.
Rain on and off from N,Van to Pemberton, in the morning. After that the weather was fantastic. Very little traffic and road was in good shape. Did not like the groove that runs down the center of the lane for almost the whole stretch of the older road. Almost like a snow grader cut too deep when making a pass. Went through to Cache Creek, that did make the day a bit longer, 706 kms from door to door. Overall a great day for the Bandit and I.

Love that road, probably my favourite on the continent
![]() Is it still gravel in sections? I seem to remember a bit near the top, not sure if it was just construction...

No gravel, newer pavement out of Pemberton to about half way then the older road. Purposly choose the more questionable weather day to try to avoid more traffic.

The old Dusty....what we called it when I lived/worked in Pemberton/Squamish. Lets see they paved it in 1991??? That's when I went to Alaska and left that way. Was all ready for the coat of tar, sure as heck was Dusty. I looked like a Cowboy when I got off it.
Just drove it last year with a couple friends, we sure stopped quite a few times to pick rocks off the road, big ones too....

The road to Darcy(and back) is a great addition to this ride.
The road beyond Darcy is even better, of course, |
