Check out my busted gas cap

I wasn't paying enough attention at fill up and the weight of the nozzle snapped it off

Question is whicj part do I need?
The fiche is not exactly clear. Is the lever (part that broke) attached to the TANK PLUG CPL. or the TANK INSERT? or do I need both parts?

You think the old lock can be put in the new cap?

Same thing happened to me. I hear that KTM will warranty the item, if you are still under warranty that is.

I ended up buying aftermarket caps that just screw on and off. These are the ones I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250887880553...#ht_534wt_1326

They work well; I have no complaints. I especially like that I don't have to take the key out of the ignition to refuel.

I think they look cool, but do you ever worry about someone dinking with your fuel when the bike is parked out of your garage? Maybe I'm paranoid...

Yes, I think you're paranoid

If they want to go to the trouble of siphoning 2 gallons of gas, they can have it. Seriously, this isn't the gas crisis of the 70's here.

Come to think of it, it would be nice to have a more positive latching cap as opposed to the oem part. It's bounced off a few times in whoops.
It bugs me a bit to have to pull the key out of the ignition to fuel up.

the new oem cap is $153, the aftermarket is $35!

It is the complete cap, you will have to swap the tumbler so your key will fit..

Yep, and it cost around $280 depending on where you buy it.
