I think it's stupid to occupy a car parking place with a bike....

Nothing to do with the type of jerks on the GS, simply some 'bon sens commun' (common sens).

But hey, I do agree with you, "over-weight jerks" ride "over-weight bikes" and often have "over-weight spirit"

when I park in a space like that I expect another bike to be able to fit in it, and park my bike in such a way. Assholes seem to be everywhere and are unavoidable even in our world.

I'm both overweight and middle-aged, but I'd share my parking space.

I think you just happened across a jerk and he would have still been a jerk regardless of what bike he was riding.

Hey me too! In fact, I like another bike next to me. Makes it harder to mess with and mine are usually the dirtiest bikes around so the clean ones make better targets :)

This! One jerk does not define a group of riders. In my experience, most riders, BMW or not, would have let you join them.

PS No offense, but making out like we all suck because of one ass doesn't make you look all that good either.

PPS He did have a trailer parked there. Maybe he was concerned he would be blocked in when he was ready to leave.

No offense taken. I was certainly painting with broad brush strokes, and I would doubt anyone would take my comments too seriously. Obviously if Beemer riders were all really that bad I would not be an MOA member, would not go to rallies, and would ride something else.

Great DVDs and technical info by the way. The willingness of Beemer wrenches to share the knowledge is one reason I have stayed with the brand.

When I'm on a road trip and parked for the night, I tend to encourage some other rider to park next to me. 1) I might have someone to talk to and 2) more than one parked bike in a stall makes it seem like a gang is near.

It's easy to mess with one person, but harder with two or more.

If you ever meet me parked at a motel then, by all means, fill up the space.

This is Woof. I'm trying to find a good home for her and she is not only super friendly but quite happy to curl up and go to sleep on my bike seat. (She'll need a lift up there though, still too small to jump that high). When would you guys like to come and pick her up?
