Indian quality at European price? No, thanks. And it's a pity, because I would be really interested in a bike like that but the country of manufacture is a deal breaker for me. 'Who cares where it's made', you ask?- well, I do.

Unfortunately true. In the case of the Honda CBR250R, which is manufactured in Thailand and India. Nearly all complaints about quality/assembly defects come from the India made models. The Thai models, which we get here in North America are up to Honda's usual standards.

That photo looks like a Duke 200 with a 390 sticker on the tank. The weight is really close to that of the Duke 690, much more than the Duke 200. I've been watching this one very closely. The 350EXC makes 45+ hp, so in street trim with a 375, it should be closer to 48+. When (if) it comes to the US, I'll take one over the Ninja 300R. Unless the 2013 Duke 690 comes the US...

45hp is a lot of power for a 375cc 4-stroke single. The engine must be a fairly high-strung, fragile, high-maintenance thumper for that kind of output. No?

Well I for one am totally stoked to be seeing this bike coming to N. America (more specifically Canada). I've been waiting for a while for the entry level street bike market to break open and it looks like its turning into a very interesting situation. With honda, Kawasaki and now KTM all refocusing their efforts on new riders you can only hope that we see more competiters in this bike class.

I personally think the duke 390 sounds like a perfect fit for a younger rider like me. Sure I'll likely pay a premium for the bike, but KTM has yet to lead me astray, and I have enough faith in the brand to trust them with picking up my first road bike, and if they have to manufacture it in india to keep costs down and turn a profit in this crappy economy, then so be it.

Even if you hate the idea of an Indian made KTM, you gotta love the attention its drawing to the entry-level class thats been so DESPERATELY starved of decent options here in N. America for far too long.

Bajaj own a huge slice of KTM. Not only is the Duke indian made, it's essentialy indian owned.

I don't have any problem with it; this is another of the <48bhp bikes that are aimed, at least in Europe, at the new class of licence for 21-24 year olds that comes into effect in January.
