6v Electrics
Working on restoring a old bike with 6v electrics...everything is working, but I'm changing handlebars and need to replace the handlebar control switches.
Anyone have any experience with Will they work with 6v as I assume they're made for 12v? Thanks! |

Yes, simple things like switches should* be fine. You only need to worry about more complicated things like rectifiers etc.
*I say should work because there is a slight chance that the current in a 6 v system would be to high for the 12v switches. Voltage=Current x Resistance so half the voltage means you have twice the current in any given system, you're old bike is probably putting out less watt's than a newer bike so I wouldn't worry. Cheers, Michael
