Youngest person(s) to go RTW?

Me and a friend of mine were talking about a RTW trip. I was thinking we might be young enough to set the world record (we're 20). Anyone know who might have beaten us to it?

When you posted that you're 20, I immediately realized you're from US.

Especially in Europe, tons of kids take a gap year after high school to travel. Some rail it around EU, some go to SE Asia, some overland Africa, and I'm sure some do RTW and some of those do it by moto. It's just that not everybody posts a ride report and self promotes their trips. Most people on the road are not posting anything on the Internet.

Should be a great experience as long as it is something you want to do for yourself, not for others.

Would it matter if someone younger has done it already. Point is you have an opportunity to do something special that others only dream off. Go ride the world. It will change your life forever.

As much as I respect Ham's accomplishments, I think he was on a ballistic flight. Ergo not RTW.

You're correct.
Ham's environment was very different.
Apples and tangerines....
Ham was sponsorless....only a tool....one cog....
