Laugh 10th Annual Bob Marley Birthday!

Tenth Annual Bob Marley's Birthday Celebration, Sunday, 02/09/2014

Bob Marley 02/06/1945

Need an excuse for a Sunday Ride!

Here is one!

Sunday February 09,2014 @ Eleven Forty-Five AM. Meet and celebrate Bob Marley's Birthday @ Ft Hoskins Park, Hoskins OR.

This is the TENTH YEAR! It has been a lot of fun.

This is a no host event. Riders will bring their own food, plates, utensils, coffee cup and music to participate. On site: a picnic table, charcoal and grill to prepare your celebratory dinner. If you want to share food, bring something everyone will enjoy! Each rider should bring a piece of firewood!

Directions: Head west from Corvallis OR on Highway 20. Go through Philomath and stay on Hwy 20 a few miles. Turn off at Wren OR onto OR Hwy 223.

HWY 223 goes N towards Kings Valley and eventually Dallas OR.

Follow Hwy 223 approx 6 miles N. Turn left to Hoskins. There is a rural Fire Station opposite the turn. Ft Hoskins Park sign is about 1/4 mile just after the LH turn off Hwy 223. Proceed West and follow signs to Park.

The approximate GPS Coordinates are: Latitude: 44.675397, Longitude: -123.4542703)

Use first gear at Park entrance. It is paved, but steep with a sharp RH turn almost immediately. Once past that, you will be rewarded at the top of the hill.

This is a newly designated Benton County Park. Ft Hoskins was sited there from 1856 to 1866.

Hope to see you there!

Disclaimer: This is a fun event. Celebrating Bob's Birthday in no way condones drug use, illegal items or supports his way of life. We picked Bob because it was the only other significant event listed on the search engine! Ja Mon!

Duh! Monkeywife and I are "IN". On the food front lets lean towards the "Sharing" angle. It is cool to see what kind of food people come up with and the creative ways to haul them. This is always a fun event.

creative ways to haul hard boilt aigs,,gotcha!

Might make some deadly dangerous hot pickled aigs this year, and then not put up a warning sign!

I could pack a rotisserie,,(sp),,it'll do 2 dozen brats or 30+ chicken wings at wunce!
I'd do pork roll-ups,,but fuck all 'em people,,I'll keep that recipe for closer fambily!,,Hmm, about time I made a batch,,come to think of it!
Maybe I can plan for it at the AprilFools doins,,if JD is still turd herding on that one.
Hiya Johnny D!, you still here,,or out steering boats into bridges?
MarleyFest,,bring yer ganja Mon!,,I and I,,I-ree-ite,

Oh,, and after all these times we have honored Marley's birfday,,SOMEBODY BETTER BRING A BOOM-BOX with volume capabilities,,we all gots Marley music we can bring,,donchaknow Mon?
Other than that,, "3 little birds",,,don't worry about a thing,,,,,,ya,,this year we're skipping the pot brownies,,goin straight for the electric koolaid,,,YMMV!

Okay,,not rilly!

I miss Vincent creek,,creak! we have gotten old enuff we need a roofed structure to hide beneath,,,creak.

A this point, it's a crap shoot. Supposed to warm up late Saturday and Sunday am.
But....
If not, some other time!

It has Snowed continuously since 0730 here. They are calling for a 100% chance of freezing rain tomorrow without a substantial increase in temperature. Even if Sunday dawns at 70 degrees and Sunny the roads are still going to be treacherous. Traction Devices are required in front of our house right now and they are requesting essential travel only. They just got done extracting one of the Rescue rigs out of the ditch. Sunday doesn't look promising for us at this point.

Drove my old Volvo 122s back from CB/NB back during the big snow/freeze in '90 over Walton Pass, with nearly 15" drifts at the top. I was the only car on 126 for miles. I was telling Sheri we'd probably have a long walk if it decided to get stuck.

We got home OK.

Canceled?

Do people cancel Christmas?

Or Flag Day?

Or Boxing Day?
