276c viewing tracks
I'm having a problem viewing tracks on my 276c. I am a total GPS noob so I searched all over and found some people asking similar questions but no answers.
Here is what's happening; I "borrowed" some tracks (gpx) and built some others on Mapsource. They are all under 500 points. They load succesfully into the data card, but when I turn on the GPS and scroll over to where they should be...no tracks. No waypoints either. I sent the file to a friend who is using an etrex and he was able to see them with no problems. I tried renaming some of them ACTIVE LOG but that did not seem to help. They are also not in the "tracks" and "waypoints" folder in the 276. I'm confident this is an easy fix, but I am very dumb and this thing has alot of buttons 'n stuff. Any help would be appreciated! |

Ah hah! I have to load the waypoints, tracks and routes via the USB directly into the unit. I only load maps onto the data card. Silly me.
Does anyone know how many points per track can be used and how many tracks the unit can hold? |

Yep, tracks are loaded directly to the unit via USB along with waypoints and routes.
The X76/X78 GPS have a 10,000 pt active track log and either a 500 or 700 pts for saved tracks. (I can't remember, you just might have to experiment with that one. Try loading one 700 saved track log and if it tells you it truncated it, then its 500.

I'm pretty sure the 276C can hold 15 tracks of *700* points each, not absolutely though...

Serves me right for doing the RTFM thing instead of just going back and looking at the tracks I saved on the 276C.
