Set Odometer to a Known Value - Delorme PN40

I have a Delorme PN-40 that I am still learning how to use. Really like it so far.

One feature that I wish it had is the ability to not just reset the trip odometer to zero (0), but to set it to a value that I enter. I sometimes still like to use paper roll charts, and if I get lost for a bit, by the time I find the trail again, my odometer reading does not match the value listed on the paper chart.

If I am at the point on the trail where the paper chart says 35.0 miles, I would like to set the trip odometer to 35.0 miles so that the odometer reading and the paper chart match as I continue down the trail.

Anybody know of a way to do this?

Only way with a Garmin (can't force the number) is; if you are long, when you get to the mileage of the next roll chart number, take GPS off line, when you get to the physical place, go back on line. If you are short, ride backwards half the error, turn around and it will be right when you get back.
