I created a GPS route based on Jerry's input since you've taken your question over to the "GPS Tracks West" forum (I'm too lazy to draw in a track)......the route was created using City Navigator 09.........Hope this helps......it will if you buy a Garmin GPS/Garmin mapping software.....this IS the GPS Tracks West forum right???

GPS is out of town

I have a Nuvi 350 that I use, but the GPS is out of town on another mission. So I am w/o one for this trip. I do have MapSource and hopefully can view your route there.
thanks,

This is a good ride, I recommend stopping for lunch at the "Elbow" on the East Walker River for lunch and a 'dip'.

At the east end of FR 028 (about a mile after you turn on it from road 3C) the road passes through the front yard of a ranch and there are a few signs (and speed bumps) indicating 5 mph. If you go through there any faster than an idle you will get the 'stink eye'. Please go through there slow to keep the guy happy.

Also, when entering Bodie it is a fee use area if you stop ($5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children). I don't know if they have a person collecting the money at a gate when you enter via Cottonwood Canyon Rd because we always enter another way but nearly every time I have been there on a dirt bike the rangers have asked if I paid. There is an 'iron ranger' by the bathrooms where you can pay if no one is collecting at the gate.

Have fun and bring a camera. the trees up there are starting to turn and the hills are full of color.
