Friend of a friend at work here imported a new Royal Enfield Bullet from India. About $3500 including import duty, etc. (Based on current South African Rand $ exchange rate. Probably even better if you convert from $ to rupees.)

It's not the first time it's been done, or he'd have had to pay about $3000+ for the SABS (SA Bureau of Standards) to homologate it.

I was there for 3 weeks in Jan/Feb last year. I'm thinking of going back again next year and getting a new bike there, selling it when I go.
