Bought my Bandit in January '00. Rode it home from the dealer end of February during an early thaw, temps in the mid 50's. That's about the coldest weather I ride the Bandit in, not much wind protection in chilly temps. Very comfy with the Corbin seat for long summer rides though, I can go tank to tank no problem...or until my arms get tired.

Great all around bike, don't think I'll ever sell her....

Picking mine up on Friday - 08 model with only 2k km on it. Have to ride it home (1000km back to Sydney) - what a shame!

I love the old style! If mine was a 1200 instead of a 600 and was truely naked (big round headlight) I never would have sold it. Kinda wished I didn't anyhow. I loved Dale Walker's (Holeshot) footpeg relocators.

Delkevic exhaust

The search feature leaves me cold.

Looking for some info on the Delkevic exhaust on a gen 2 B1200. From the few hints I've had here and there - seems it's mildly louder and hotter than the stocker. I watched a youtube ad for the can and a dyno comparison (small and gone really quick) seemed to show about 8hp over stock.

If that's the case then I may be interested. Now, I like quiet, but the stocker is eerily so. An increase in db's would be OK if it bought a few ponies along with it. Pretty sure I don't want to go with a really loud can like the D&D though. Too bad - it's a good looking can for sure.

Any thoughts?

Have you looked into Holeshot? Dale really has these bikes figured out and his kits will really wake the Bandit up. www.holeshot.com

I did just the stage one kit with pipe on mine and have been real pleased with the results.

Thanks Beeper. The stage 1/advancer is on it's way from Holeshot already. Just not quite ready to drop the $$ for Dale's can as well.

Hey, anybody have a nice Holeshot exhaust for sale?

Picked the bike up yesterday - what an amazing machine! Ride back from Melbourne through Beechworth, the Murray Valley and Bathurst - beautiful countryside! Here's a couple of picks near Corryong

I love my Bandit (06 1200).
I have travelled all over NSW (Australia) on it.
About the only thing wrong is the standard seat, but I fixed that with a Airhawk.

Get another one. Clean first gen Bandits can be found for ridiculously low prices.

Hey, quick question for you Bandit owners! I have an '01 1200s that I purchased in July. Been putting a ton of miles on it and enjoying it a lot. Big grin factor. The only thing that kinda bugs me is: it is a clunky shifter, up and down through the gears, especially through first and third. Anybody else experience this? Is this a trait of this model, or do I have some work to do? The clutch seems fine and adjusted correctly. The bike now has 25,000k on it.

Just having fun reading through the string and thought I'd throw the question out!

No "clucky" shifts on my 01 Bandit 1200 w/10k mi. on odometer. When was the last time you bled the clutch?
