My new old school ride - R60/2
Just picked this up yesterday. Got a call from a friend who had a friend who's husband had passed away. She wanted to make room in the garage for her car, and was having trouble finding someone to buy this motorcycle. I was happy to take it off her hands.
![]() ![]() ![]() Just 54,000 original miles ![]() In the left hand bag were the original owners manual and a service manual. It needs a little tender loving care. It has not run since 1994, but everything appears to be intact. For those of you with experience, what pitfalls if any lurk below the surface that I need to be aware of before I start bringing it back to running condition? I would appreciate any advice or input. |

Then, once you know its running condition, have the slingers cleaned ASAP (not cheap). Can I ask what you paid for her?

What a great looking bike! Can you post a picture of the fairing taken from the front - it doesn't look like there's much air cooling going on there, does it?

Plus the cost of getting the engine there. It's deal, though, compared to the expense of not getting them cleaned.

nice...lots of quality accessories..jeez you could probably take it all off and sell to pay for the bike
fairing looks like a two piece job. Top half stuck to the bars, bottom half is rigid. Never seen that style before |

![]() The two piece fairing is nice. The headlight turns with the wheel. To avoid being lynched I will not disclose what I paid for it, but it was an excellent deal. |

You've found yourself a really stylish ride there. It's a REAL BMW!
From the looks of it someone enjoyed a lot of fine rides on that machine. I gotta believe that the old guy it belonged to would be happy to know that the bike wound up with someone who cared about it.
