What a great day for a ride!!
The tag was at the Yorktown Victory Monument. Fantastic tag Abe! The concluding battle of the Revolutionary War ended October 19, 1781 in Yorktown, Virginia. General Cornwallis and his 7,157 men surrendered to General Washington. To commemorate the important Allied Victory over the British, the Continental Congress on October 29, 1781, authorized the Yorktown Victory Monument. Construction began a century later with completion in 1884. Lady Victory, a younger sister to the Statue of Liberty, exquisitely tops a slender pedestal of Maine granite. In 1956, replacement of the original figure of liberty, damaged by lightening, took place. The pedestal is 84 feet high and Liberty is 14 feet high. The Yorktown Victory Monument is located on the southeastern end of Main Street in Yorktown.   New post up soon. .

 I tried to get involved a while back and could not figure out how to post a photo. Last I heard I'd have to get a SmugMug account. Would I still have to do that? The photo thing really frustrated me. Hey Biker128Pedal...How's the addition going? I saw you at Lowes a couple weeks ago...Help me out on this photo thing! |

You have to get some sort of on-line photo hosting account (we have a smugmug account).. Smugmug is nice, but it's not free.. The money from your smugmug account does help keep this site running and ad free though.. You can also go with a photobucket account, which is free.. I'd encourage you to get a smugmug account though bc I can't see photobucket pics at work
