stella for the winter
my first scooter- ive been talking trash about scooters for years, now i are one. found this crashed 05 stella on craigslist for short money, offered less than that and had it fixed up in a week. now its got a mazzy crank, a sito+, foam uni-filter and big fat jets, goes like a raped ape and keeps my feet dry. has a big fat windshield and welded up a rack out of polished stainless. probably get some bitubo's for it but they are so much $, i dont know.
anyway -big fun i'll be stacking the miles up on this thing in the spring ![]() (thats a piece of scrap railing leaning up against the wall behind the windshield)

Why do people treat their scooters like that?

Umm...gravity?
Lack of a garage space? Fire codes in multi-family dwellings prohibiting gasoline stored in motor vehicles indoors? Want to see if it was white as the driven snow? Who can think up of some other possible reasons?

hey emmettken- give me your address and i'll send you a big tub of scooter polish and a 30 pack of imported detailing brushes.
the thing does pretty good in the snow- the light weight allows it to recover from loss of traction pretty quickly (damn that black ice), narrow tires cut through slush ok, and if things get real squirrely you can move over to the side of the road and putt allong at 20 until the road clears up. just pick your routes carefully to get on the cleared roads asap. i can have the motor out and on the workbench in 30 minutes, the cases split in another hour and the whole thing cleaned and rebuilt (bearings seals and a new crank) in about 3 more hours. anyway i would recomend the sito+ unifilter rejet and new mazzy crank (the stock ones like to blow up at 5k or so say everyone i talk to with stella experience) mods to anybody with one of these priceless machines. woke it right up, yet still doesnt seem to challenge the motors soundness at all. really isnt too loud either, not offensive in volume or pitch. the all steel construction is cool - if i turn the stereo down and its quiet outside i can listen to it rust from my couch.
