SYM HD200...more great info - Page 2

Been thinking of selling my Silverwing and just having the HD for longer rides. Toward making the decision, I decided to take a "longer" ride and see how it went. Headed for Greensboro -67 miles away.

11:16 -- Hit the highway ≈ and headed west.
11:20 -- Back is sore but it's been cranky lately so ignore it.
11:50 -- Thinking maybe I should go 100 miles instead of 67. I'm passing slower trucks as needed and the ride is great. Big trucks pass me and the back draft moves the scoot around but no worse than the Silverwing.
12:07 -- roll into Greensboro
12:16 -- It's been 1 hour and the odo says I've gone 75 miles! Holy Crap - I've been in town for 9 min. and still made 75 miles in an hour. Either the odo is off or I was going a lot faster than I thought on Rt 40.
3:00 -- Back home after riding around. 160 miles on the odo. Back feels great and I think the ride just got better as time went on. An amazing scoot.

The Silverwing is definitely gonna go.

2 things.... 1) Gotta get a wind screen. 2) When I started to feel cramped I just hopped up and sat on the passenger part of the seat. Gave my legs more room and forced me to put my arms in a different position. After a while like that I moved back to the "normal" position. Being able to change seating like that made the riding a lot more comfy.

I've had mine for 9 months and haven't taken it to the dealer for anything. Did order a new air filter over the internet.
I would buy a HD200 without a local dealer but I do all my own maintenance on my bikes. Your local mechanic should be able to take care of you.

Hey Barnone,
How is the HD200 holding up? I found a Blur 150 with about 200 miles on it that I just couldn't pass up. I love it. The brakes and suspension/handling are amazing (for a scoot). But it's still a 150. Need more power! I still remember my testride on the HD200. Oh well. I can always wait a few more months and see about a 2010 Blur 220i!!!

The HD200 is hodling up just fine. I still can't believe the performance of the 171cc engine.
