Very nice scores, especially on the KZ1300 and Ct70.

The good thing is, your damn motor can't read. If it says oil on the container, it's pretty much OK to dump in there.... ED.

the fucking thing is a dreadnought. and that motor, egads like a monolith carved from a single block of granite.

i've always wanted one, and recently cycle world and classic bike have done articles on it. that sealed the deal on this bike which i have literally been stalking for the past six to eight months.i did get the airbox bits missing in the pics.
i'm content right now just to look at it in my garage and smile.....

Used to be one of these parked at Coleman Power Sports in Falls Church VA. I think it belonged to an employee; it had a flatbed sidecar with a foldup ramp for someone to roll a wheelchair up onto it from behind, and it had controls on the front of the hack for the rider/driver. That was a ride for one brave dude.

holy crap, i bet the sight of a bike with no rider bombing down the road must have handed out a few heartattacks...

1979 A1?

I have the same bike, though mine has 140k on the clock and is in 'touring' mode. It desperately needs a rebuild, has burned oil since day one. I've heard the first 6 - 8 months of the A1's had out of round of cylinders. Mine hasn't run for years now, but I keep her prepped with wd40 in the cylinders and fresh gas in the tank, stored indoors.

You found a great bike - keep us posted.

The Z1300 is a great bike, well done - just ditch that armchair stuck on top

Kinda nice [not really] that K.H.I. is staying consistant on the built in flaws. I've heard that the oil drinking problems of the '08 up KLRs is due to out of round cylinders.
