Improvements and Concealex shipping
Hi,
Continued thanks and appreciation for all you guys who have bought my Cradles! I just finished another run of CONCEALEX, much more interest in the carbon fiber look-alike material than the KYDEX. New casting tooling has helped me improve fit and finish and I now use all aluminum backing reinforcements which are completely countersunk for mounting bolts. New pics posted at first post in this thread. Beaky the Buzzard is hopeful the improvements will go far to keep cradles doing their jobs, and Adventure Buzzards on track with the GPS's in the cockpits. ![]() Here's what comes with the cradle - without any RAM equipment (customer supplies their own RAM mounts) ![]() Look for Stovey out on the trail and at ADVRider events, dualsport rides and elsewhere during the upcoming 2010 riding season. If you see my logo, honk, beep, throw a rock -give me a roost, just say "HI!" I'll be out there.... May = Tetons, Island Park, Red Desert of Wyoming, Flattops in Colorado June = NJ, MD and DE and more in Idaho July = MT1000 and West Fest August = World of Speed in Bonneville with Team Bullet, LSR Warrior Pits September = New York October = 2nd Annual "Legends of the Fall Pre-Halloween Havoc, Pony Express Trail to Area 51 Dual Sport Ride For No Whimps Rally" November = Moab December = Prep for Baja Free Shipping CONUS USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail Extended Through May Thank you all..... Sincerely, Stovey

I've had a report of a cradle failure....
Well, even though I'm a one-man operation, I apparently have an employee named "MURPHY." I'd like to kick his ass.....
I coincidentally received a report of a cradle breaking from a fellow inmate, moments after making the above updated post. I'm bummed, of course - it's the first reported failure - the top cover cracked down the middle somehow. It wasn't even in use or on a bike. These things have been bomb-proof, running in the hands of folks from Canada to Mexico, and lots of riding off-road in Baja. But I can't be as bummed as the guy who had his cradle break - discovering it after he got off a plane in Thailand. So he's without, after buying one for his trip over there, and all I can do is relate - and it sucks. So, it's busted, and I will replace it. And I'm not going to hide the fact - so within the hour of me finding out about it I'm going to post it here. With that having been said - I still think they are "bomb-proof." All of the building and prototyping and testing and riding hours in the field - it survived great, but it couldn't take the airlines. Everyone who's bought one from me please check your cradles and make sure they are alright. Talk to me. My guy in Thailand will send me pics and I'll post them here if he doesn't. (He's being way cool about it, by the way.) I wish it didn't happen, but since it did, all I can do is replace it and hope all goes well from here. It's the first time one has broken. I knew I should have had my guys crash harder on them down in Baja. ![]() Humbly yours, Stovey ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I just finished a 3 day rally training in the Ca/Nv desert and was able to crash test the cradle. Cradle survived with flying colors.
The GPS screen was scratched up proving that the cradle must have survived at the very least some contact with terra firma. I rode approx. 450 miles off-road and the cradle met and exceeded all performance expectations. Massive vibration encountered the whole way and the cradle remained tightly closed as designed. Great product, keep up the good work. |

Very Good!
Phil and Tom,
Thanks for the reports and the pics! I'm still hard at it, and this is the kind of info I love to hear, of course! I envy you out riding just now, but my time will come for this season..... keeping my fingers crossed to be able to get out there and ride. Meanwhile, I appreciate the feedback. Keep me posted and if you ever have any trouble, just let me know. Yours in dirt, Stovey

You guys are killing me.....
![]() Anyway, as told in the latest episode of this forever-long saga, I'm given an ETA of May 6 for delivery. I'll believe that when I see it. I have a nice cradle, and no handlebars to put it on! Dang! Some recent customers have asked fundamental questions - likely not having read through the 4 pages of this thread and skipping to the end.... So for convenience here's some recap for newcomers not reading all posts up to now: $75 price. Available for Garmin GPSMAP60-Series ALSO now have cradles for Garmin 78's (new in August 2010 - now shipping) Checks only. Make payable to Dave Jankowsky P.o. Box 656 Victor, ID 83455 Cradle designed to mount to RAM mounts - RAM mounts not included RAM ball only part number = RAM-B-238. But you need the arm and bar mount. GPSCity has all this stuff. Here's a couple of handy links below: ************************************************** ******************** These are the kinds of things you will need to mount my CRADLE - A RAM diamond plate with ball http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-dia...am-b-238u.html The BUZZ BOMB Cradle is designed to connect to the RAM Diamond Plate on the back of the cradle. The diamond plate has a 1.0 inch diameter rubber ball connected at right angles to the plate, which connects directly to the 1 inch arm socket. You will also need the RAM arm socket... http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-med...am-b-201u.html You will also need a way to get this onto your bike, and there a different ways to do that with the RAM system. A common mounting is on the handlebars using a setup like this... http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-zin...m-b-231zu.html Thats the basics. There are so many options to "get your balls together" with RAM components that each rider needs to sort that out with their own bike. Different handlebar diameters take different sized U-bolts, so pay attention to your dimensions when shopping. But I will stress that the cradle I make is designed to work only with the RAM mount system. The adjustability and shock absorption and impact resistance of the RAM mounts help keep my cradles "bomb-proof." Mounting them any other way with any other components is recommended against. ************************************************** ***************************** I do not sell RAM mounts, RAM parts. I make and sell cradle only, designed to work in conjunction with the excellent RAM system. I've had good luck buying my stuff from GPSCity. I pay shipping CONUS USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail to ADVRider inmates for as long as I'm still doing this. Thanks for all and see you "out there." I will be at Montana 1000 Rally and West Fest. Sincerely, Stovey ps - where's my bike?

Best protection for your 60csx.........
I have had the opportunity to test Dave's cradles for a little over a year now, total of three weeks of Baja, one full summer of ridding. hands down the best protection you can get for 60 series GPS!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Dave Berg

Yes, I now have a place to hang my cradle.
Still reading the manual on the bike though..... it's going to be a few weeks yet as I get un-hooked on phonics. Stovey
