Is the Roof Rack available yet? I'm hoping to get my V2's at the RA rally with the roof rack factory welded on... any news on that front?

I know Bob and Sue are at the MOA rally, so I didn't want to bother the shop with my call.

We'll have them ready for you
We'll have Roof Racks at the BMW RA Rally in VT. Full production will be shortly after that.

Bob left Portland, Oregon this morning on the 1200 GS. He's following Lewis and Clark trail east.

Saw the roof racks at the MOA rally and talked to Sue in person.Almost snagged one of the show demo's,but hesitated a bit too long and someone else grabbed them.
Put my name on the list for the first batch. Now just waiting for everyone to get back home and start up production.

So has anyone tried these on a 990 Adventure? I really like the side loading idea so I don't have to remove anything that might be loaded on top. Pics on a 990? How wide does it make it?

Something like this?

Not sure on the width specs. Check in with Twisted Throttle who is the distributor for SW-Motech Racks. Once you know the width of the racks add for the V2 cases (8" or 10" model).

Hey Steve,

Width: 6.75"
Length: 13.5"
Height: 1"

Mounting Hole Spacing (Width): 5"
Mounting Hole Spacing (Length): 7"

How does that sound? What are the surface dimensions that you have to work with?

Hey folks,
We're headed to the BMW RA rally in Pownal, VT. Be sure to swing by the booth, say hello, and check out all the gear. See you soon.

Thank you and sorry for the tardy reply. I see no reason why they won't fit. the tops of my Jesses are 6.125" wide X 16" long so the hole spaces are well within the flat surfaces of the lids. I rekon I may have to purchase a set

990 Adventure application

Those look great on the Adventure. I am assuming those are the 35l (8" wide). They look kind of small. I had Givis on my VStrom, but they are not ging to work on the KTM. Any more pics from the rear?

Steve
We just returned from the BMW RA rally where we sold two sets of Roof Racks to Jesse owners. You're right, the fit looks just fine. Give us a call and we'll get you a set.

Ya, those are the 37L (8"). If you need more space, bump up to the 45L (10"). That pic was from a customer, unfortunately that's the only shot we have. Maybe you can post lots of pics when you get your setup installed

BMW RA Rally

We've just returned from the BMW RA Rally in Pownal, VT. Great weather, great riding, and great people. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. It was a pleasure to see our returning customers as well as many new faces.

Coincidentally, we did an install on a 1200GS and an 800GS, both of which were the 30th Anniversary Editions. Here's the shot - looking good!

A solo shot of the 800 with V2s

A front shot of the 1200 shows the slim fitting (but large capacity) Pilot Cases
