![]() From the way back machine. Me, with my back to you in slimmer, longer haired trim with my 1975 Z-1 B at the Hoover Dam. This was during a 30 day 8000 mile trip from Kentucky to California and back. Good times. Circa 1977.

I had a 1981 Z750E for 10 years. It was sold to me after 3 previous owners had flogged it mercilessly at the drags (as a learner drag bike.....) for the previous 10 years. I re-ringed it, put on slingshots off a oil/air GSXR750, milled the head into the valve seats
, then proceeded to flog it myself everywhere for the said 10 years, until finally 60000km later one of the rings broke, dammit! So I re-ringed it, cut up a swingarm off a ZX9 and solid mounted the thing with 3=point linkage arms from the shed, modded the slingshots for methanol, and now it's doing consistent hi-11's with my gleeful son-in-law giggling all the way down the track. Still love that big ugly POS!

I remember back in the mid 70s I rode a KZ750 and was surpirsed at how fast and light it felt for a 750 for the day.

The bike beyond my Z is a KZ650 the delux version with twin discs and cast wheels. It belongs to Keith , the guy that I did the trip with. The candy purple triple belongs to Al , stationed in Vegas with the Air Force. It's an H-2 750 and Al and our friend John , also in the Air Force rode it 2 up with us to San Deigo that weekend.
