Well, unfortunately, I have to share the sad tale of another POS...

A little over a year ago, I bought a top-of-the-line 4.25" hand grinder from Sears -- my first hand grinder was a reconditioned Sears, and I'd been using it for over 20 years.

What a mistake. I was using it with a flap wheel to smooth welds. Within 4 months, the damn thing starts acting up - it needs a little nudge on the wheel to get it running. Then, it starts shooting BIG SPARKS out the vents! So I take it all apart, discover it's full of funk, so I clean it, chuck it up in my lathe and skim the rotor which had very bad arc burns, and reassemble it.

It lasts for 2 months, then starts shooting sparks out the side again. It's full of funk again, and the funk is accumulating where the brushes are located! Kinda bad plan, since it's a GRINDER, and grinders make electrically conductive dust. WTF? Put the fan on the other end, Mr. Rocket Doctor.

So, I haul it back to Sears. Turns out that Sears has PUSSIFIED the Craftsman name: now, it don't mean shit. Now the have a 90-day warranty (no guarantee anymore) on power tools. I ask the sales dood "So, does Sears still have a 'satisfaction guarantee'?" He says "yes", so I slide the grinder across the counter again and say "I'm not satisfied". He laughs heartily, and says it doesn't work like that. I asked for the manager, he repeats the same line, so I told him, and I'll tell everyone that will listen, that if I want a made in China POS, I'll go to Harbor Freight and pay $20, not $90 for a throw-away tool that is badly and dangerously designed. And, really, what is a Satisfaction Guarantee if they won't honor it? Nothing but lying advertising bullshit.

I will *never* buy another tool from Sears, ever.

Hands down, mine would have to be the Corbin seat for the KTM 990. OMG, that thing was like a big, heavy piece of 4x8 covered by some fru fru leather looking stuff. I bought it right before a trip, and 200 miles in, I was wishing I had just left the stocker on. After 1000 miles, I was ready to fly home. I didn't, but what a piece of crap that thing is....

Anything Harbor Freight made in China (oops, that's probably everything they sell). China's payback to the US.

A new '89 Sportster. Left me stranded 3 times within the first 6 months I owned it. Flew it to Europe, and after touring around on it, sold it in Germany. My payback for WWII.

Anything electrical, auto or motorcycle, made by a company called Lucas. Lucas's continuing payback to the world for Lucas jokes.

Ditto for a company called Marelli.

My fiance had problems with her Jeep Cherokee (no surprise there. Dont EVER buy a Jeep vehicle BTW) and the transmission with it starting out in 2nd or 3rd gear instead of first, and slipping. She forked over about $3K in repair costs and on the ride home the problem started again. They had initially said it needed a full rebuild which they did, then when we brought it back, they claimed it was the computer. They tried to make us pay for it and I said F yourself. They put it in on their dime and it did the same thing. Out over $3K as we got no resolution from the Aamco, nor corporate and her Jeep was vandalized within a week of that time so I just bought her a new car.

F**K Aamco and Jeep who have consistent transmission problems with all of their crap cars.

It is funny because everyone always says the same things about Harbor Freight. I get stuff there all the time, but nothing power. Who buys their power stuff more than once?

Expensive DeWalt power drill developed a dodgy switch within a few months and parts to repair it are almost as expensive as a new drill.

No-name angle-grinder from one of these truck/tent sales cost me $10 with a spare set of brushes and a stack of grinding wheels. Gets very hot under prolonged high-load use but is still going strong after about ten years.

Cheap air impact wrench from HF was so feeble I could stop it turning by holding it in my hand. They took it back for a full refund with no questions however.

Shad top box (SH-40). Purchased it new and had it on the bike for less than a month and it cracked by the latch. And no the bike was never down with this case installed. Sure I can understand how a product can be faulty, but the kicker is Shad's customer service is worst I have ever dealt with in the motorcycle community!! They would not replace the Top box. They claimed since it was mounted on a DS that goes off road that they will not replace it due to this off road abuse. This is even after patiently explaining to USA Director that it cracked along the plastic molded seam of latch and was not due to any abuse.

I will never use their products even if there given to me!!!

2000 Lincoln LS. Purchased it used a couple years back with 60K miles. Every time I turn around something breaks on this car. Unfortunately I still own it because I have so much damn money invested in repairs.

Tourmaster Transition Series 2 jacket and pants. Theads started fraying after a few months. I had both on during a 10mph low side. The pants fell a part and tour a fist sized hole. The jacket arm snaps un-snapped and the hard plastic backed armor flipped and ended up stabbing me in the arms. The jacket ened up causing most of the injuries.
