Photos from Michaux SF Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania State Forests are GREAT places to ride!!!, I've been doing so since 1975.

Michaux State Forest (pronounced Me- sho) is in south central Pennsylvania. I grew up on roads like this. I get back here as often as I can/

An excellent informational post from towpro:

ATV Trails http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/atv/D01_ATV_1.pdf
But remember, the ATV trails are only for ATV's (not motorcycles. Not even Street Legal Motorcycles!)
All-Terrain Vehicles are defined as follows:
1. Class 1 ATV – A motorized off-highway vehicle, which travels on three or more inflatable tires and has a maximum width of 50 inches and a maximum dry weight of 1000 pounds.
2. Class 2 ATV – A motorized off-highway vehicle, which travels on three or more inflatable tires and has a width which exceeds 50 inches or a dry weight which exceeds 1000 pounds.

Recommended Parking (for the ATV trails)
parking lots located at Big Flat along Shippensburg Road about 1-1/4 miles north of its intersection with Route 233 and on Piney Mountain along Bendersville Road south of Pine Grove Furnace State Park.

It is relatively new to me too. It's the closest PA SF to me in Baltimore. I lived next to Rothrock for a long time, and between that and Bald Eagle I got plenty of forest road riding.

to the folks who posted: Thank you for the kind comments!
to the folks who didn't post: Thank y'all for not making fun of my photography skills!
I have a few pictures from last spring that I'll post today. Enjoy.

Jax, Great photos!!!! Used to live in Mechanicsburg and would spend many weekends in the Michaux S.F. / Pine Grove Forest area, climbing up the back side of Pole Steeple for great views of the Cumberland Valley. Thanks for bringing back memories!!

Thanks, My pleasure I assure you.
Yeh man. That is the shit. down there close to where Michaux ends at Mt Holly Springs. Ridge is the good stuff. I go in right off 16 and come out up at MHS, and generally get lost along the way...Or I'm following someone (code) who gets lost wouldn't be the same without it.

Enjoy:

Nice shots Jack.

MSF has one other feature that's almost gotten me in trouble a coupla times. Come hauling butt around a corner on a paved road and have it turn to gravel halfway through. On the FJR with PR2 tires, those are a real bun clencher.

Looking forward to the next ride to eat!
