The pulley could be his reverse

That's what I was thinking. I don't see a belt, so I was curious if he had fabricated a mount for an electric motor and somehow meshed it with the pulley. Otherwise , that pulley can be simply be removed from the wheel without having to make any other mods.
Hopefully the OP will chime in. George |

Nice job! It's been years since I've seen a setup like that on the road.
I think the passenger on the bike would be weird. Does it spin the back tire easily? |

There was a fellow in Lexington 20 years ago that had a drive from the sidecar rig. His was based on a 750 Honda automatic. There was nothing where the handlebar would have been. And that's what made it strange for a passenger.
He took me for a short ride , in town, but I guess he wanted to show me how well it went. So it was full throtle, hard charging through turns, more full throtle then hard on the brakes. Get the idea? But I didn't have a bar to hang on to, just my knees and hands squeezing the gas tank. A short ride was plenty.

We have built a few of these, We normaly mount the sidecar on the left as that is where the rider is going to be.

Jay that makes a lot of sense as I remember what it was like driving an old right hand postal Jeep.
