Problem is when he drops it(during boggy conditions/enduro races) or when he is at standstill awaiting to attempt a big hill during a race it gets hot and loses coolant from the radiator..............since there is no expansion bottle for the coolant to flow into it goes on the floor i would think.......this leads to it overheating and seizing.........i aint trying to put you off your ride cos they are great machines(fast and handle great) but be warned before it happens to you.
Hell and I live in the tropics as well i.e HOT before you even start the bike ! How does it flow everwhere when he drops it, has he not tightened the radiator cap ? I have had it boil over but then this is de riguer for where I live. I check the coolant level after each ride and often add 20ml or so. I pulled up beside a mate the other week and heard the "bubbling sound", for a second I thought it was coming from my bike, we had been doing first gear work crawling over loose rocks the size of soccer balls and mine had boiled over twice but it was coming from his DRZ. I think the main problem is the lack of a fan and an overflow bottle would no doubt help...

He should sell it if he doesn't like it

I have had a couple Huskies, this one is a sweet bit 'o kit. I would seriously doubt it's longeviety after all it is a "euro" RFS e.g of the four guys who have had KTM 525's, 3 "blew" them up (several thousands in damage all within 2 years), Husabergs shit 'emselves all around me (another one went last weekend, towed home by an XR 650 I here !), 3 or so DRZ's have shit themselves. WR's seem to have been good (so far) and XR's are as reliable as hell

If you are woried about such bikes, I suggest a KLR 650.

I can barely hang on to the 450, let alone a 510, I should have got the 250 but I hate changing gears ie I wanted the extra torque.

I aint worried about such bikes...........it's his not mine!!
From what he told me it seems that the coolant is leaking from the overflow when boiling too hot.
He has a 510 cos he is about 18stones DRY!!
I am glad you're happy with it............i wasn't trying to stir up some $hit......just warning you so it wouldn't happen to you.
Anyway..............happy riding!!
