Not that my opinion means much anymore since the accuweather fiasco. But I almost bought this mount. But after seeing the video I noticed you cannot charge the phone in the mount. So you would have to run on battery power. And with the way gps apps draw on the battery, it would be useless.
So I went with the old standard. I bought a ram mount. But I bought 2 mounts. The standard iPhone mount and their water proof box. It's called the Aqua Box. It's not the greatest, but it keeps the phone dry. And you can operate it in the case.



I use the standard mount 80% of the time. The aqua I use in rain or Offroad. And in the extreme cold. But when the clear rubber gets too cold it's hard to control the phone.

Agreed. And mountguys ships fast. I usually get my stuff the next day here in pa.

Just curious. Why do they say it's junk. Visually it's stunning and easy to read. Even on the bike. And for me so far it's worked well.

Hey, you are that Dennis....no shit. You did take that shot. That was the first weekend I got my knee down. As usual, was focused on that too much, and was not even really going fast enough to need it down....but hey, made for a good shot, right.

On the Iphone (and I think the touch is the same way) you hold the home button and then hit the sleep button to take a screen shot.

ah ha...thanks for instruction...much appreciated. I have had mine for about two days and this what I have on mine at this point.





Ok, here is another question: The power cord I have is the one that connects to the Ipod on one side and is a USB that plugs into a wall socket type plug, on the other end. I'd like to wire in one of those USB 12V plugs that I see people using( on the bike). I imagine the wall outlet does some metering of the power going to the unit. Do these plusg that get wired into the bikes have any kind of metering like that?? Last thing I would wanna do is blow up my new toy on the bike.

Doug. I sort of remember. I also High sided on the south course. Died and was resesitated there in 2005. 2006 is a foggy year for me.


Anyway. I would find a nice marine grade cigarette lighter plug for the bike. Then I would probably go to igearusa.com and find a flush mount USB adapter.

I like these because they sit flush in the socket. Walmart also has something similar that has dual USB.

It's a USB that plugs into USB. Any USB. You can charge it from your computer, for example. The wall socket block is just a device that converts wall power to USB power. Any 12V -> USB power adapter that provides enough power will work. I'm using an older version of this one.
