r100gs front master cylinder question

I have a question on the front master cylinder on my r100gs. Is that thing really all one piece with the throttle and switchgear housing? It sure looks that way, even with my cheaters on.

I am wanting to swap out the bars and add real hand guards. Also might do the caliper swap with a 6 piston GSXR thing that I have laying around which might require a different master. Figured I'd ask before i started unscrewing stuff.

Looking at the exploded view of a one of those chain drive throttle things really scares me!

The MC is held on the throttle housing by two allen bolts. Not as scary as it seems

Adapter? I just took it out with a pair of pliers, came out fine w/o damage.

This is pretty much what you get (minus the fluid tank and throttle tube)

Your earlier style master cylinder (g/s 181-86, gs 87-90) has more bore diameter options than the later. 12-16mm bores. The early ones are female threaded the later ones have a banjo fitting.

Look at twisted throttle for some real guards. I'm pleased w/ the way mine have held up though a crash or two. Very sturdy and fits stock bars.

More picts here.
