not idling in cold (20 degrees) even after bike is hot

I've got a 91 DR350S... Rode to work this morning (8 miles stop and go) bike started fine (couple more kicks than normal but hey it's 20 degrees outside) problem is it died as soon as I would let off the throttle (below 2500rpm ish). I cranked the idle screw so it would hopefully rev higher (like maybe 2000rpm) but it would die as soon as I let it go below 2500ish... The bike was hot by the end of my ride and it was still doing the same thing...

I've run the bike in these temps before should I have just let it warm up longer before starting my ride? I haven't changed anything else other than it's coler and I rode longer than normal (for the temp)...

I have a 96 SE model that I picked up last April for $1450. It was mechanically sound put cosmetically challenged. After the riding season ended I stripped it completely and painted the frame and engine. I also changed out most of the bearings and added stainless brake lines, fat bars, wide pegs, and bunch of other odds and ends from Kientech. I figure the current value including my labor to be right around $1450.00

They are awesome racks, I have one on my 250 - they were available new when I bought it about 4 years ago. Expensive though ($175 or something I think). By far the most trick part on the bike

Toying with some ideas here .My DR350 is now a 450 and I am considering some head work and maybe a larger carb .

What are the feelings on this ? Anyone done it and if you went to larger valves what valves did you use and how big on the carb?

Once again thanks fellows.. We got snow up here so they'll probably want to let it go for cheaper now.
go with the new England it's all original. you don't know what that other guy did.

and when you buy this bike don't go and start doing those exhaust mods and air filter mods accept for replacing the air filter
. Your just going to blow up the engine like the rest of the idiots on this forum. get an aftermarket exhaust and a oversize header pipe with a k&n filter if you want power.
