Makes me want to throw my coat over that MM. That's like making Jessica Alba sleep outside.

Picking it up in 1 hour!!
I am picking up my 08' MM in about an hour! Its 34 degrees here in Denver, but I'll just put on more layers. She has 5,500mi on her, but I figure thats just getting broken in. I'll let you know what I think.

Ive had the itch to go offroad riding. I used to ride trails a lot a few years ago. I love my MM, but I cant quite afford another bike so Ive been thinking of selling mine
to get a HP2E . I want to keep it simple with shaft drive and good performance. What do you guys think??? Am I nuts?

I also have had the lust for one of those...
but I live in the middle of the city, so would never get to use it. Check out this site - http://hp2enduro.com/news.php

If i could only have one...................i´ll keep the Enduro, because is more versatile, on mountain roads if you are not in "attack" mode, you can enjoy the enduro as much as the MM, But..............if you like to "attack" twisties, the MM would do it much much very much better. It brakes a world better, suspenssions are road tuned, and tires are sport tires. Also the engine revs better than the E and it has 10CV plus. Obvioulsy the MM is fully street and road oriented bike. The Enduro behaves good on mountain roads and twisties and the engine allows to accelerate a lot , too much for a bike wearing knobbies, but main limits are on braking , tires and suspenssions.............of course........is a dual sport.... The Enduro obviously can be ridden on any terrain, including off road, the MM only on the easy stuff and paying attention. I use the MM for commuting and any kind of street and road riding, i enjoy it specially on spring and summer, with warm temperatures and dry asphault that allows me to enjoy the whole potential of this bike, having fun doing it. The HP2 enduro i use it only for ADV riding, Xploring off road, dual sport anyway. For the tight stufff i got a 530 and a XRR , so i do not need to punish the HP2 enduro. I know there is not logic on my fleet, just passion, and a lot of riding. Everything depends if you are more dirt or street oriented rider. And there are the choices MM or E.

I live in Southern NV (Southwest USA), and the dual sport riding out here is second to none. The twisties, well, there are no twisties here in Nevada. Just long, (insanely long), straight roads that roll through the valleys. Just to get to twisties is a good few hour ride to California.
I think Im going to see what HP2Es are selling for and figure out what the MM would sell for. (No options other than the windscreen/ 10k miles-just turned over two days ago)

This has crossed my mind... Anyone know what kind of tires those are? D616? Also, what about the space between the front tire and the fender?

off road
I am running D616 on fire roads, does good until alot of mud, then slippery. I have seriously considered a 19/17 combo with wire spoke wheels. I asked Woody and others, but haven't found anyone who has actually done this conversion, except someone on UKGSer. I am told the GS wheels would work with the dual rotors on the front, however a fender modification would be necessary, maybe a Xchallenge front fender? -Spence
