Still waiting for my Ducati dealer to get the ECU upgrade to stop the surging and poor low rpm fueling. It seems that some dealers have it and some dont.

mmm, well I test rode a 1200 abs version yesterday and WOW.... I am in ultimate Moto Lust.
I was almost ready to buy a new Triumph Tiger but while I was having a recall done on my Sprint I started to notice the Ducati. After riding it and adding up the stuff I was planning to spend on the Tiger as upgrades (standard on the 1200 Touring...) then I am not that far off... I ride 20-30k a year of mostly slab. I ride two up probably 5-10k every year. Have a few ?'s Is there any changes in the 2011 Touring models? How does your pillion feel after 500 miles in the stock seat? Is this Ducati going to hold up for 100k plus over the next 5 years?

My wife loves it 2up, most comfortable bike so far she says.
MPG is like 38 so a tank gets you 185 miles.

Still using the stock seat? How has your maintenance been? How big is the stock Panniers? Can you fit a full face helmet in them?

Yes. Stock seats are great.
$300 for 600 mile service (changed oil and filter) Last trip to that dealer! Panniers are small, especially right side with exhaust cutout relief. Helmet will not fit in panniers, not even close.

Hmm. Looks like the Panniers are about the same as my current Sprint St.
Thanks for the feedback.

My wife says the stock seat is the best she's ever sat on. We've done multiple 350 mile days without a problem. We still have stock seat. I've done 800 mile days on worse seats. The multi seat is very good for me, I know I could do a 1k easy on it.
My 600 mile service was much less than $300. Currently have 5k miles on the bike. Only real problem has been the fuel gauge, replaced under warranty. A helmet will fit in the side bags with the large covers. The top box is awesome. If electronic suspension is not your cup of tea, price out a base or ABS model with the additions you want (side bags/ top case, center stand). The multi then becomes even more $ competative to other models. The base model forks are very good. |

The bigger pannier lids add a lot of capacity and a lot of girth.
